Automatic WaterShutoff Valves.
Tony's Plumbing installs whole-home automatic water shutoff valves for houses in Cypress, Katy, Houston, Tomball, Spring, The Woodlands, and nearby communities—so a leaking tank or supply line can close the water while you are at work or out of town.
A manual main still matters. An automatic valve adds a sensor-driven close when flow or leak detection says water is going where it should not. A licensed Master Plumber places it where it can actually stop the house. Call (832) 890-8449.

What an automatic shutoff does
A whole-home automatic water shutoff sits on the supply after the meter and closes when its sensors see a leak or abnormal flow. It is meant for the failures that happen when nobody is standing next to the water heater—a tank seam, a failed supply line, or a burst in a wall.
It does not replace the manual main. You still need a valve you can turn by hand during a storm or a power-outage leak. We label both so every adult in the house knows which one to use.
Where it helps around water heaters
Garage and attic tanks in northwest Houston fail onto finished floors and ceilings. An automatic shutoff will not resurrect a dead Bradford White or Rheem tank, but it can stop the supply that keeps feeding a split shell after you leave for work.
We often pair the valve with a tank replacement, a pan, and a working T&P drain. The heater page covers the tank itself. This page covers stopping the water when the next leak starts.
Houston storms, travel, and power
Gulf storms and weekend travel are when unattended leaks do the most damage. Know the manual shutoff before hurricane season, and add an automatic valve if the house sits empty or the water heater is over living space.
Most automatic valves need power and a clear install location on the main. We confirm access, electrical, and whether the valve can close the whole house—not just one fixture—before we quote the work.
What We Cover
Automatic Shutoff
What We Install
Whole-home leak shutoff for houses that cannot afford an unattended tank or supply failure.
Whole-Home Automatic Valves
Sensor-driven shutoff on the main supply so a leak can close the water without someone at the meter.
Water Heater Leak Protection
Limits how long a failed tank keeps feeding water into a garage, closet, or ceiling.
Placement on the Main
Installed where the valve stops the house, not a single hose bibb that leaves indoor lines live.
Travel & Storm Readiness
Useful when the house is empty or when Gulf weather keeps you away from the manual shutoff.
Manual Shutoff Still in Place
We leave a hand valve you can use if power is out or the automatic unit needs service.
Paired With Heater Replacement
Add the valve during a Bradford White or Rheem tank swap, or schedule it on its own visit.
Our Approach.
A clear, proven process that eliminates guesswork and gets it right the first time.
Locate
We find the main, confirm what the valve would actually shut off, and check power and clearance for a whole-home automatic unit.
Install
The valve goes on the supply where a leak downstream—including the water heater—cannot keep filling the house.
Test & Label
We cycle the close, show you the manual override, and label the automatic valve and the hand shutoff.

An automatic shutoff is only useful if it is on the right pipe, tested, and paired with a manual valve people can find in the dark. We install it that way across Cypress, Katy, and northwest Houston.
